Situated on “Oude Houtlei”, a modest facade disguises the inner oasis of our medieval cloister: PoortAckere. No imposing entrance nor red carpet awaits you here. No clue on the outside that an oasis of peace, is hidden away from the bustle of the city. Once you have entered the hotel, you find yourself in a former nunnery whose history goes way back to 1278. The atmosphere is serene and restful, yet the building remains its unique character, as a medieval cloister with its own hisory.
